For the last 2 weeks we have been learning about the 5 senses such as touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste. Authors use these because it paints a better picture for the reader. Authors write in second person because the author wants the reader to image them self in it. We have also been learning about similes and metaphors.
Your alarm blasts at 7:00am.
You get up, jumping like a kangaroo.
eat some breakfast.
toast with a berry smoothie
pack your bag with your water bottle.
boots, food, and your touch uniform.
Shaking with nerves, ready for the first game.
As you arrive.
You go to the changing rooms.
The bad stench of sweat fills the room.
You warm up before the whistle blows.
You nervously grip the ovally touch ball.
You glide down the field like a speeding race car.
You dive for that try as you can feel the opponent chasing behind me.
The crowd goes wild.
Your dad waits in the car.
He’s proud of you because of that try.
He goes fast like a cheater on the way home.
As you get home you rush to the shower.
You can feel the hot steam coming from inside the shower.
You walk out and there is a hot plate of pasta on the table
